Krystal Rojo

Youth Leader

Krystal Rojo

I have been serving God and going to church for over 29 years. I was born and brought up in church and have fallen in love with God and His Word. My father, Pastor Rojo, started the Rock of Zion Church almost 14 years ago. Since then, I have been actively involved in ministry wherever I am needed.

I serve in the Sunday School department and have been a Sunday school teacher for all ages.  As I grew up, I eventually became the Youth leader and have been encouraging, teaching and leading the youth for over 5 years now. It is my passion and I love connecting with them, praying with them and guiding them. I take it very seriously.

When you belong to a smaller church, you tend to wear multiple hats. Since the church was founded, I also sing soprano and alto on our Praise Team, under the direction of our Music Leader, Leana Hernandez (who is also my sister).  I really love to worship God with song – it’s an amazing ministry.

My favorite scripture is II Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”

This scripture has helped me through some tough trials in my life. When I feel overwhelmed, fearful, or broken, I speak this scripture and the peace that passes all understanding comes over me and calms my spirit. The Word of God strengthens me and has seen me through many trials… but II Timothy 1:7 has been a constant reminder of what God has given me.
